(b. 1979)
Johannes Boris Borowski was born in Hof, Germany in 1979. He studied in Berlin and Paris from 1998 -2006 with Hanspeter Kyburz and Marco Stroppa. In 2003 Borowski won the Hanns Eisler composition prize and 2004 won a scholarship at the International Ensemble Modern Academy in Frankfurt. In 2008 the premiere of his orchestral composition “Change” was conducted in Lucerne by Pierre Boulez. Significant commissions from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Ensemble Intercontemporain Paris in 2009/10. Borowski worked again with the Paris group in 2012 on his World premiere of “Second” with George Benjamin.
