David Benoit

(b. 1953)
David Benoit was born in Bakersfield California in 1953. From the age of 13 he studied piano initially with Marya Cressy Wright and then with Arturo Toscaninni’s pianist, Abraham Fraser. Benoit studied theory and composition at El Camino College and then film scoring sessions at University of California, Los Angeles. He is a popular television and film composer which scores for the films The Christmas Tree and The Stars Fell on Henrietta. Benoit has conducted has conducted many well-known orchestras including the National Symphony, San Francisco Symphony and Los Angeles Philharmonic. He lives with his wife and daughter in Palos Verdes, California.
