Anders Brødsgaard

(b. 1955)
Born in 1955 Anders Brødsgaard developed his studies at the Funen Academy of Music from 1974. In 1979 he continued at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen studying with Anker Blyme. He also studied at the Jutland Academy of Music, Karl Aage Rasmussen, Per Nørgard and Hans Abrahamsen being his composition tutors. Karlheinz Stockhausen was an early influence inspiring his serial composition techniques. Some of Brødsgaard’s large scale works include Galaxy in 1999 and Rejse in 2000, after which time he became interested and invested time in exploring the link between classical instrumentation through electronic amplification. Later works include his song cycle Galgenlieder in 2006 and his jazz orchestral composition, Monk’s Mixtures in 2009
